Volkswagen Europe gets a new crossover, the Taigo
KUALA LUMPUR: Volkswagen European lineup now includes a new car, the Taigo, which is basically a renamed version of the Nivus sold in Brazil and other South American countries.
Let’s now get to know the new VW Taigo, starting with its platform and dimensions. The VW Taigo, like the Nivus is underpinned by the MQB A0 platform that also supports the T-Cross and Polo Mk6.

The crossover measures 4,266 mm in length, 1,757 mm in width, and 1,493 mm in height, thus making it slightly longer than Polo and T-Cross. Its wheelbase measures 2,566 mm that is the same as the Polo and slightly more than the standard T-Cross.
As for its footprint, the Taigo covers a smaller area/footprint than the T-Roc, all variants included.
The VW Taigo will be offered in four variants - standard, Life, Style and R-Line.

On the design front, the Taigo crossover features a coupe-like roofline making it appear more stylish than the T-Cross. The car you see in the images here is wearing the VW R-line package that includes - some black accents and faux quad tips.
The cabin looks identical to that of its Brazilian counterpart, the Nivus, with a few changes here and there. It gets a fancier climate system control panel which is borrowed from the latest Polo, Tiguan, and Arteon.
