VW Releases List of 9 European Dieselgate-Affected Vehicles of 2016 Model Year

Kuala Lumpur: Volkswagen has recently released a list of nine European dieselgate-affected vehicles of 2016 model year, after a press conference in Wolfsburg. The German automaker has also stated that the CO2 issue is “largely concluded” and there are fewer vehicles affected from the dieselgate than the earlier estimated 8 million. The list of nine European dieselgate affected vehicles of 2016 model year goes as follows.

3. Volkswagen Jetta 1.2 TSI BMT 77kW EU6 manual
4. Volkswagen Jetta 2.0 TDI BMT 81kW EU6 manual
5. Volkswagen Golf Convertible 2.0 TDI BMT 81kW EU6 manual
6. Volkswagen Golf 2.0 TDI BMT 110kW EU6 manual
7. Volkswagen Passat Alltrack 2.0 TSI 4MOTION BMT 162kW EU6 DSG
8. Volkswagen Passat Estate 2.0 TDI SCR 4MOTION BMT 176kW EU6 DSG

It is worth to mention that this list is limited to Europe only and the state of the dieselgate affected vehciles in U.S remains the same. The CO2 emissions of all the aforesaid vehicles will be adjusted and tested again by an impartial body. However, the real-world fuel consumption figures of all these vehicles will remain unchanged and none of these cars will get a technical fix. The same process will be followed by the dieselgate-affected vehciles of the Audi, Skoda and SEAT.

The latest dieselgate update from the Volkswagen has releaved that certain issues like rule-breaking and misconduct have led to groups of individuals breaching regulations and installing software that could cheat diesel emission tests where there are strict emission limits, like United States. The German automaker has also revealed that both internal and external audits are in process to reach the depth of the infamous dieselgate scandal, with more than 450 employees involved in the process. The detailed results of both audits are likely to be revealed in April, 2016.
