All-new Modenas Karisma 125 S coming soon to Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, that’s true. Modenas Malaysia will soon introduce a new scooter in the local market. Called the 2022 Modenas Karisma 125 S, the company recently dropped a teaser video of the vehicle and we can see it with some up-to-date equipment.

What does the new Karisma 125 S teaser reveal?

The upcoming Modenas scooter can be seen with LED lighting with daytime-running lights at the front. The front-wheel can be seen with a disc brake.

We also expect the scooter to benefit from new graphics and colours, giving the Karisma 125 a modern appeal.

We also expect the upcoming Karisma 125 S to include a digital instrument panel, ABS braking, and EFI for the engine. Modenas is yet to give out official details on its upcoming scooter.

The ongoing Modenas Karisma 125 S has been in the market since 2016, so for a long time now. The upcoming, revised model will surely put the scooter back in the game with its new design and equipment. Thus, making it relevant and competitive.

Powering the current Karisma 125 is a 124.6cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder mill fed by a carburetor. The scooter rides on 14-inch wheels with a front hydraulic brake disc and rear mechanical drum, It also gets a 4.6-litre fuel tank, an analogue panel, and is based on the Kymco Ace 9. As for the upcoming model, we aren't sure which scooter model it will be used upon.

In order to keep the new Karisma 125 S in the budget scooter segment, the new Modenas Karisma 125 S is expected to remain a 125 cc scooter versus upgrading to a 150 cc mill and competing in the more upmarket scooter category.
