Despite having a modern design language, the Mitsubishi Outlander still has the quintessential old school silhouette, thus making it look butch and muscular. The high raised bonnet, sleek shoulder line, high ground clearance and side body cladding all give the Mitsubishi Outlander a good stance.
For a premium midsize SUV, the Mitsubishi Outlander is loaded with a number of comfort and convenience features which do give it a premium appeal in and out. With features like leather upholstery, sunroof, 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and electric parking brake, the Outlander feels plush for an SUV of its price.
With a good length, width and wheelbase, the Mitsubishi Outlander feels incredibly spacious on the inside. There is ample amount of space with great knee room, shoulder room and legroom in all the three rows of seats, which makes the Mitsubishi Outlander one of the most spacious and comfortable SUVs in its category.
The Mitsubishi Outlander is equipped up to the brim with comfort and convenience features. However, the overall layout and design of the dashboard feel somewhat dated and too simple for a premium SUV of this size.
The Mitsubishi Outlander is powered by a powerful 2.4-litre petrol engine, which has great power delivery. However, the problem is with the relatively low fuel efficiency which makes the running costs quite high of the premium SUV.
The CVT gearbox is convenient to use in city traffic conditions. However, in longer driving cycles, the gearbox feels lethargic and has a rubber band effect which might irritate all those people who love driving.

After a series of legendary old-school ladder on frame SUVs, Mitsubishi took its first step in making its lineup modern by introducing the contemporary Outlander. The Outlander is one of the first Mitsubishi SUVs to feature a modern design language and a long list of creature comforts to please the younger generation. Available in three color options, Solar White, Red Metallic, and Ruby Black, the Mitsubishi Outlander is being offered in two engine petrol engine options. Four-wheel drive comes as standard in both of the variants.
On the inside, the overall layout is not as dramatic as that on the outside, with things being laid out simply in the Outlander.
The three-spoke steering wheel, as well as the instrument console, has a very basic approach in design. The large centre console looks like in a unison with the instrument console, thanks to the continuous outline of chrome. The large 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system is functional, however, it could have been a bit more modern and feature-rich. The buttons for the automatic climate control too look plain. In addition, the all-black theme for the interior along with the dark wood inserts make the overall cabin look a bit gloomy.
However, the Outlander impresses one with the long list of features it packs. Included in the list are features like - push-button start with keyless entry, electronic parking brake, leather upholstery, electronic tailgate opening, dual-zone automatic climate control, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and 6-speakers, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat and anti-pinch sunroof.
Space is quite accommodating for five passengers, with the boot space being cavernous enough to pack in your weekend luggage with ease.
Compared to the old-school butch looks of Mitsubishi SUVs, the Outlander happens to be a distinguishing output with its urban design.
At the front, the Mitsubishi Outlander has a sleek two slat chrome grille which seamlessly blends with the angular headlamps, which comprise of projector units as well as daytime running LEDs. The headlamps on both the sides come with a zig-zag chrome garnish which extends all the way down to the fog lamps. Apart from these, the blackened centre portion of the front bumper, as well as silver skid plate below it, give the Outlander a macho look.
From the sides, the Outlander is not as outlandish as it at the front and carries a simple and understated elegance. However, the chrome garnish on shoulder-line and door handles as well as diamond cut alloy wheels impart some premium appeal to the otherwise very simple design.
At the rear, the Outlander comes with large LED tail lamps with the kink on outer edges as well as chrome garnish at the centre of the rear hatch. The roof mounted spoiler as well as shark fin antenna make the rear of the Outlander appeal sporty.
The Mitsubishi Outlander comes with a rather simple suspension setup of Macpherson struts at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear. Being majorly engineered for urban usage, the suspension is set on a slightly stiffer side to make it a bit more driver-oriented. The disc brake setup on all four wheels does the job rather well.
The Mitsubishi Outlander is being offered with a choice of two petrol engines. The smaller 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine pumps out 145 PS of power and 196 Nm of torque. The larger 2.4-litre four-cylinder mill generates 167 PS of power and 222 Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a common CVT transmission, which translates to a jerkless driving experience. The only flipside here is the low fuel efficiency.
The Mitsubishi Outlander comes equipped with some really impressive safety features, the list of which includes seven airbags, active stability control, traction control, hill start assist, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist. Also included in the list is driving video recorder, all-round monitor, reverse camera with parking sensors, and ISOFIX mounts.
The Outlander might not have that butch stance of the traditional Mitsubishi SUVs, however, the elegant urban design surely has the ability to charm the modern day customers. However, the interior could have been designed in a bit more special way. The long list of features, decent performance, and ride quality make sure that the Outlander serves as a perfect urban SUV which can be a part-time weekend companion as well.
Mitsubishi Outlander is meant for the ride on the go for all the lovers of SUV. The new design is much more unique and stylish. The affluent Outlander comes with dual-zone climate control, electrically powered seats for heating adjustments, a 6.1-inch infotainment touch screen, push-button start, rain-sensing wipers many more to make it an extraordinary and line piece. A stupendous
In the current times, every carmaker is offering modern design to their SUVs. However, that’s not the case with Mitsubishi Outlander as it still flaunts the old-school muscular look that convinced me to buy it as I am not a fan of the modern sleek design statement. The interior of the vehicle is loaded with a plethora of features and
I have owned this car for quite a few years now. My view about this car is pretty average so far. Perhaps this car cannot meet all your expectations that you may seek in today’s hot selling compact SUV cars. The styling of the car is pretty outdated. The infotainment system is pretty outdated as well. The car is providing
I wanted my very first purchase in the SUV segment to be a car with effortless handling and a ready to go car for any terrain. I am more than pleased on my purchase of Mitsubishi’s Outlander. After my experience of 3,000+ km with the car, I can confidently write that the Outlander rides really well, be it on the
In a segment where most competitors are offering 5 seats, the Outlander gives you 7! Well, you could argue that those 3rd-row seats are useless but it is still good to have for those emergency situations when you need to carry those extra passengers. Apart from that, the dash layout in the Outlander is rather inspiring, though it is functional.
My next car had to be an SUV and with so many options around, the choice was just that much harder. The Outlander was never really in contention but I went to check it out after my friend told me that it was worth a look. To my surprise, I absolutely loved it! Looks are subjective but it looks smart
Whenever I think of the Mitsubishi Outlander, only one thing comes to my mind and that is this giant yet stylish structure on four wheels that is ready to unleash itself upon everyone on the streets. Outlander has been in my possession for over four months now and everytime I take it out on the streets, I surely get a
For a family of 4, the Outlander is the perfect SUV. Mitsubishi has done a great job packaging the interiors, with great quality and space. The new design language chosen by Mitsubishi seems to be working well and the Outlander is one smart looking car. performance and dynamics are great for an SUV in this class, but I do wish
For last couple of months I am driving Mitsubishi Outlander. I am totally happy that I bought it. Of course like any potential buyer when I went to their showroom couple of months back I was not so confident. I have seen the model in an automobile magazine sometimes back and then only fell in love with its exquisite exterior.
Have you wondered about dazzling Mitsubishi earlier? It’s Mitsubishi Outlander. I just surprised by the looks it has. I can definitely say that this is a bestower of swiftness. When I tested outlander I received a satisfactory judgment about it from inside. The automation is pretty smooth that encourages the driver to feel higher and higher. The skilled driver can
