The familiar workhouse that keeps delivering
The standard Hiace model continues to excel as a dependable commercial van for Malaysian businesses. Its 2.5L turbodiesel engine isn’t fast, but it does provide a steady torque for uphill areas like Puchong or Cheras. Seating position is tall and comfortable, reducing fatigue during long, multi-stop days. The cabin has become quieter, while the AC cools effectively even when the car remains idle under direct heat. Cargo space is generous and easy to load due to the lower floor height. Fuel efficiency is also decent for its class. However, the infotainment system could use a modern update as it feels quite outdated, especially owing to the delayed responses.
