Audi unveils 2020 RS6 Avant; price starts at RM 539,327

KUALA LUMPUR: Audi has taken the wraps off the new RS 6 Avant, which comes with the top-of-the-line equipment along with impressive performance.

It sits on the top of the A6 family with its unique RS design. The 2020 RS6 Avant to go on sale in Germany and other European countries by the end of 2019.

Design-wise, Audi RS 6 Avant comes with RS-specific touches on front doors, all body panels, the roof, and the luggage compartment cover. Moreover, the RS-specific HD Matrix LED headlights having the Audi laser light comes in place of the standard LED headlights.

Inside the 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant, the car comes with Audi virtual cockpit along with RS graphics. It can display torque and power outputs, tyre pressures, engine oil temperature, lap times, boost pressure, g-forces, and acceleration measurements.

The engine is the most attractive part of the new RS 6 Avant, as the given 4.0-litre Biturbo petrol V8 engine is capable of churning out a maximum power of 600 PS along with the peak torque of 800 Nm, which comes at a range between 2,100 rpm and 4,500 rpm. Performance-wise, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.6 seconds, while to break the 200 kmph barrier, it takes 12 seconds.

As standard, the car can achieve a top speed of 250 kmph, while with the Dynamic package, it can provide a top speed of 280 kmph. On the other hand, the performance flagship Dynamic package plus one can offer a maximum speed of 305 kmph.

The 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant specs sheet comes with a mild-hybrid system (MHEV) that contains a COD (cylinder on demand) system along with a 48-volt main electrical system. Sometimes the car demands less output,

so the MHEV generally switches off four cylinders to make the performance more efficient. It has the standard eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox having faster gear changing that takes care of the transmission duties. It is equipped with the Quattro permanent all-wheel drive.
