Fast and Furious 7’s 1968 Dodge Charger Maximus up for auction
KUALA LUMPUR: The highly modified 1968 Dodge Charger Maximus which was used in Fast and Furious 7, is to be auctioned under Worldwide Auctioneers at Riyadh Auction & Salon in Saudi Arabia.
The iconic car was seen driven by Vin Diesel, at the end of Paul Walkers last Fast and Furious movie before his death. This 1968 Charger, is of high sentimental value to the fans worldwide. It had also appeared in Wiz Khalifa’s ‘See You Again” music video.
This road beast is built by Tom Nelson and his team at Nelson Racing Engines. The team put a total of around 16,000 hours just to upgrade the engine and fabricate the body. The car sports a wide body, unique interiors and custom wheels. Due to the heavy modification, the car is also nick-named as “Maximus the Ultra Charger”.
This highly modified Charger comes with a 9.4-litre Mopar V-8 engine accompanied by two-twin scroll turbochargers. The engine produces power of 3,000hp and can top from zero to 257km/h in 8 seconds. Moreover, the car can top from zero to 96km/h in 1.8 seconds and is fully road-legal to drive.
Sporting a fully adjustable Coilover suspension, this car also features GPS based traction control system. Inside this custom built monster, the seats are wrapped in Italian leather along with German carpets and heat proofing for a comfortable ride. The panel on the dashboard, which looks robotized contains an iOS-based touchscreen display.
The winning bidder of the car will win a round trip ticket to Los Angeles along with a 30-days of owner specific customisation, apart from the status of owning a celebrity supercar. The auction of the car also comes with a small stipulation for the owner which states, owner of the car will be lending it to the studio for the filming of the final movie in the franchise of Fast and Furious, “Fast 10”.
