Honda Elevate SUV revealed in India; Will it come to Malaysia?

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda’s new B-segment SUV, the Elevate, has made its global debut in India to rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Skoda Kushaq. The SUV will first hit the Indian showrooms, followed by the launch in other markets. India will play an important role in fulfilling the robust demand for SUVs globally by exporting the Elevate across the world.

Dimensionally, the SUV measures 4,312 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. The ground clearance is measured at 220mm, which is said to be the best in the segment.

Design-wise, the new Honda Elevate has an upright silhouette with a big front grille incorporating horizontal bars. It is bracketed by slim LED headlights connected with LED daytime running lights by a chunky chrome bar. Among the key exterior elements are rugged body cladding, 17-inch alloy wheels, chunky wheel arches, roof rails, and wraparound LED tail lights linked via a black strip.

The cabin of the new Honda SUV exudes an upmarket appeal with a dual-tone theme and soft-touch materials all around. The key features are -

• 7-inch digital driver’s display
• Connected car tech
• Automatic air conditioning system
• Wireless phone charging
• Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
• Honda Connect telematics
• Single-pane sunroof

Based on the Honda Global Small Car platform, the SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 121 hp of maximum power and 145 Nm of peak torque. The power is sent to the wheels via either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT.

Honda is yet to reveal the Elevate pricing for the Indian market.

Will the Honda Elevate come to Malaysia?

Well, there is no information yet available on the Honda Elevate arrival in Malaysia. However, considering the popularity of B-segment SUVs in the local market, we can expect its arrival sooner or later.
