Kurt Leitner appointed as Co-managing director of VPCM

KUALA LUMPUR: Kurt Leitner has been announced as the new Co-managing director of VPCM (Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia). He will be working alongside Erik Winter, who is the other managing director. The latter person will also be serving as the Volkswagen Group Singapore section's managing director role.

The former Co-managing director, Florian Steiner has moved to Europe to take a new role in that continent after serving as VPCM's managing director for four years. This is the key reason for Kurt Leitner's new role.  Some of the focus areas will be information technology, human resources, and finance. On the other hand, Winter to lead the manufacturer in the sales, marketing operations, aftersales and dealer network segments.

Speaking of Kurt Leitner portfolio, he comes with a lot of experience as he has been with the Porsche Holding Salzburg  (VPCM's managing company) since 1988. The firm collection includes several management positions, like Porsche Romania's managing director for four years. Porsche Finance Group Romania's CEO and Porsche Chile and PGA Ellada's general manager 

According to Kurt Leitner, "I am very excited to be in this part of the region, living both in Malaysia and Singapore and working with people from different cultures and backgrounds. This will be a new journey and learning experience for me, and I hope to make the most of it during my time here."

His colleague, Erik Winter said that it is good to add Leitner, in the management team as a lot of automotive retail and finance experience under his name. Though Malaysia's automotive scene is highly competitive, the company will fight back surely.

Both the VPCM's managing directors strongly believe that in the highly competitive automotive  Malaysian market, the Volkswagen brand will grow as it has aggressive aftersales enhancements under its "Volkswagen Cares" brand promise and a robust upcoming product line-up.
