Lotus Emira GT4 is getting to race in 2022
KUALA LUMPUR: Listen up car racing enthusiasts. The stunning looking Lotus Emira GT4 is getting prepped by the RML Group to compete in 2022. Thinking where you heard the name RML, well it is the same company behind the Nissan Juke R that is developing its own version of the Ferrari 250 GT SWB.
Coming back to the Emira GT4. Powering this race car is a 3.5-litre Toyota V6 unit, the same mill that one can get in the road car. Depending on BoP regs it should churn out around 400 bhp and revs to 7,200 rpm.
The power is sent to the wheels wrapped in Pirelli tyres via a 6-speed sequential gearbox from xTrac. Suspension and braking are taken care of by Bilstein and Alcon, respectively. Note, everything is built as per FIA specifications.
According to Lotus, the GT4 will mark the beginning of 'an exciting new era in performance GT racing' for the automaker. And will also mark its comeback to the world of motorsport which is a key pillar of its transformation phase.
The arrival of the Emira GT4 would mean the end of the glorious Evora GT4 era which has won many races all over the world.
The Emira GT4 official launch is scheduled to take place later this year and the company is pretty sure that the first batch of cars will be ready by 2022.
