Meet Leapmotor’s new compact EV, the A10

KUALA LUMPUR: Leapmotor has pulled the wraps off a new electric SUV in the Chinese market, called the A10. Positioned below the B10, the latest model is a compact SUV rivalling the likes of the BYD Atto 2 (also known as Yuan Up).

Leapmotor A10: What do we know so far

• The new Leapmotor EV features a crossover-like design that aligns with the brand’s signature design language. The closed front end has a trapeze-shaped air intake, oval-shaped headlamps, and a charging port on the front left fender. 

• Adding to its sturdy and modern look are plastic trim around bumpers,  wheel arches and lower body, along with rectangular tail lights at the rear.
• The EV has a bump on the roof, which seems to be the LiDAR sensor, suggesting the presence of advanced driving assistance systems. 
• In terms of dimensions, it is expected to match the Atto 2, which measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height.  
• No information is yet available on the drivetrain, range and charging specifications.

Set to make its public debut at this year’s Guangzhou Motor Show, the Leapmotor A10’s price is expected to start around CNY 80,000 (RM 46,740) - CNY 100,000 (RM 58,425) in China. 

Leapmotor EVs in Malaysia 

Stellantis-owned Leapmotor made its way to Malaysia last year with the launch of the C10, which is a D-segment SUV, priced at RM 125,000. The automaker is now geared up to introduce its second EV in the country, the B10, a C-segment SUV. 

Bookings for the Leapmotor B10 are now open in Malaysia, with an estimated price ranging between RM 110,000 and RM 120,000. With the early bird booking promo, interested folks can book the EV with an order fee of just RM 80 and can get an exclusive ‘LeapX100’ package worth up to RM 8,000 (available for the first 200 buyers).
