New EPMB facility to produce chassis components for Proton vehicles
KUALA LUMPUR: EP Manufacturing Berhad (EPMB), a leading Malaysian automotive solutions provider, has opened a new chassis component assembly facility in the Automotive High Technology Valley (AHTV), Tanjong Malim. It is operated under Peps Sanly JV, a joint venture between Peps (a subsidiary of EPMB) and Chinese metalworks and brake specialist Sanly Auto Parts.

- Built with a total investment of RM9.5 million, the facility spans 9,909 square meters.
- It commenced operations in October 2025 and is capable of producing 40,000 car sets a month, or up to 480,000 car sets per annum.
- The facility will localise the manufacturing of front corner modules, subframe modules, and rear axle module assemblies for a range of Proton models - Saga (AMA01), Persona, Iriz, and upcoming AMA02 and AMA05 models.
"The launch of this new facility under Peps Sanly JV marks the continuation of our strategic partnership with Sanly China, following the formalisation of our joint venture in February last year. The goal of this partnership is to ensure a more robust and efficient supply chain for EPMB, leveraging Sanly China's advanced metalworking, assembly and automotive chassis system expertise. It aligns with the strategic initiatives of MITI and MIDA, fostering technology transfer and enhancing local manufacturing capabilities. Notably, through this JV, EPMB and Sanly are now the only joint venture company specialising in automotive chassis systems in Malaysia, said En. Hamidon Abdullah, Executive Chairman of EPMB.
