New Range Rover Evoque set to launch on June 26

KUALA LUMPUR: With a stunning design theme and latest exciting features, the all-new Range Rover Evoque is about to hit the Malaysian shores. Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia has announced the official launch date of the compact luxury SUV, which is June 26, Thursday. The event would be seen as the first virtual launch of the company, which will be broadcasted via its Facebook page (www.facebook.com/landrovermalaysia/) at 11 a.m. 

The second-generation Range Rover Evoque features a new design language, advanced driver assistance technologies, ground-breaking off-road technologies, and an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system.

The SUV is a sophisticated evolution of the brand’s original distinctive coupe-like silhouette, fast roofline, and a rising beltline, altogether mark the identification of the Range Rover family. The inclusion of new slim LED headlamps, and tail lamps highlight the new design cues while the restyled flush door handles add to its sculpted aesthetic look.

Inside the cabin, the 2020 Range Rover Evoque features an InControl Touch Pro Duo setup with two sleek 10-inch touchscreens and a 12.3-inch driver display behind the wheel. The hi-tech Evoque is interconnected with the following enhancements:

• ClearSight Rear View Mirror, that can transform into an HD screen whenever needed, the driver can flip the switch underside the mirror, and the camera feed will display what’s behind the vehicle. 
• ClearSight Ground View technology, that projects a 180-degree view of the ground onto the vehicle’s upper touchscreen, which allows drivers to see through the hood and under the front end of the vehicle.
• Smart Settings system, that uses artificial intelligence algorithms to learn a driver’s preferences to automate comfort.
• Self-learning’ technology, that learns the driver’s media preferences, preferred temperature settings, most dialled numbers, as per the time and day of the week.

Powering the new Evoque is a 2.0-litre petrol turbocharged Ingenium engine that is coupled with a nine-speed automatic transmission for a quick response to throttle and a more engaging drive. Safety-wise, the SUV gets active safety features including lane keep assist and the Driver Condition Monitor that detects sudden, non-linear movements of the vehicle and triggers an audio and visual warning.

But, what is the price of the new Range Rover Evoque? The automaker still stays mum on this, which means we have to hold our curiosity for a few more days.
