Next-Gen RS4 to be Revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: The fourth generation Audi RS4 will be launched soon. It is a well-known fact that the second gen Audi RS4 had received good response over the past decade and was offered as a four-door sedan having a 4.2 litre V8 engine, all-wheel drive and a six-speed manual tranmission.

While the RS5's character appears clearly inspired from the B7 RS4's, but changes made to the design language are clearly apparent. As per the previous report, after two generations having unassisted V8s under the hood, the fourth generations RS4 will return to a twin-turbocharged V6. According to the RS4 tradition, it will be confined to a five-door Avant body style, because “that is what people expect from the RS4,” said by Quattro GmbH, Director of Heinz Hollerweger. The German manufacturer is also planning to release RS5 Sportback, similar to Audi's portfolio management with the outgoing RS4.

Since, Audi has minimized its wagon presence in the US, it was highly unlikely that the A4 Avant will be released. But, the company has decided to retain the A4 and A6 Avant variants in the market. As per the statement of Quattro boss ,“there is a more demand, so maybe that will change”, the US market is changing.

In the US market, it gained good response and now it will be launched in Malaysia to gain profit.
