Volkswagen Malaysia introduces a new after-sale service
KUALA LUMPUR: Happy news for all the VW owners! Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia has now included a new after-sale service on the cards. Called the Walnut Blasting Decarboniser service, as the name suggests, it involves engine decarbonization. It is a part of the preventive maintenance package introduced by VW Malaysia.
All the cars powered by a direct-injected petrol engine are deemed to produce carbon deposits - a by-product of the whole combustion process that takes within. And the deposit aggravates by the stop-and-go urban driving. As a result, over time, a hard black deposit builds-up around the intake valves, which in turn leads to higher fuel consumption, overheating, and even results in loss of power.
There’s more to list of ill-happenings due to the blockage of intake valve like - engine knocking, rough idling, engine misfire, and poor acceleration. And it’s here the engine decarbonisation comes to the rescue.
The newly introduced Walnut Blasting Decarbonisation service is approved and recognized by Volkswagen AG. In this process, the metal surfaces are blasted to get rid of the carbon build-up in the mill. This, in turn, results in a smoother and cleaner ride. What makes this process different is the fact that instead of highly abrasive material, it utilises walnut shells to clean the surface without causing any damage. Thus making this method non-corrosive and efficient, as no harmful chemicals are used.
The Walnut Blasting Decarboniser service is available at all authorized VW dealerships and is priced at as low as RM 515 (depending on application). The company recommends engine decarbonising as a preventive measure that should be carried out after every 45,000 km.
