Yamaha Y15ZR and Y15ZR SE receive an update in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Leong Yamaha Motor has rolled out new colour options for the Yamaha Y15ZR and Y15ZR Special Edition (SE), giving its iconic performance mopeds a fresh look. 

The 2026 Yamaha Y15ZR is now offered in a new Cyan Jade colour, replacing Mecha Green, with Aqua Violet and Blue Spark being retained. Inspired by the combination of cyan’s energetic vibe and jade’s modern character, the latest colour lends a bolder, sportier, and more contemporary vibe to the moped. 

The 2026 Yamaha Y15ZR Special Edition, on the other hand, gets  Royal Maroon as the latest colour option paired with gold alloy wheels, offering a more exclusive and sophisticated appearance. Additionally, the SE model comes with -

• An exclusive Sports Visor on the front cowl for a sportier and more dynamic image
• Yamaha Premium Basket with a built-in USB Type-C charging port that adds more convenience.

2026 Yamaha Y15ZR and Y15ZR SE: Key highlights

Both models share the same chassis, engine, and performance, with the main differences lying in their visual appearance. The SE boasts a sportier and more dynamic look with exclusive graphics, gold wheels, and an exclusive Sports Visor. 

Common highlights are as follows - 

• Both are powered by the same 149.7-cc liquid-cooled, SOHC, single-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 15.4 PS at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.8 Nm at 7,000 rpm. 
• Power is sent to the ground via a 5-speed transmission mated to a chain final drive system.
• The suspension setup comprises conventional telescopic forks at the front wheel and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. 
• Handling the braking duties are hydraulic brake discs at both ends.
• Other key features include - LED headlight, 17-inch wheels (wrapped with 90/80 front and 120/70 rear tyres), a monochrome LCD panel, and a 4.2-litre fuel tank.

The new Yamaha Y15ZR and Yamaha Y15ZR SE are now available at all authorised Yamaha dealers nationwide. On the purchase of the SE variant, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor offers a complimentary Yamaha Safety Disc Lock worth RM 100.00.
