All-new BYD Atto 8 debuts at 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show

KUALA LUMPUR: BYD has pulled the wraps off the all-new Atto 8 (also known as the Tang L and Sealion 8) at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show in China. This high-performance electrified SUV gets a refreshed, bold exterior, an upgraded cabin, and cutting-edge technology.

BYD offers the 7-seater Atto 8 in six variants in China, with prices ranging from CNY 214,800 (RM 125,522) to CNY 274,800 (RM 160,584).

BYD Atto 8: Key design and highlights 

• Underpinning the brand’s Dragon Face design philosophy, the upgraded SUV features a flowing and dynamic look with new front “dragon whiskers.”
• The Atto 8 also gets new tail lights inspired by Chinese culture, along with a newly designed D-pillar and a roof-mounted lidar unit for enhanced intelligent driving capabilities. 
• The cabin boasts a palace-inspired layout with clean modern lines, 3D-cut surfaces, and bamboo wood trims. 
• Also new for the upgraded Atto 8 are advanced cabin software and user-interface, which is now mated to DiLink 150, offering adaptive brightness, customizable seasonal themes, and interactive mascot characters. 
• The brand’s flagship SUV is equipped with God’s Eye B high-level laser-based DiPilot 300 driver-assistance system. It includes a wide range of advanced systems along with “parking-spot to parking-spot” autonomous navigation without manual input.

The high-performance BYD Atto 8 is expected to enter the global market in both PHEV and EV versions soon.
