BYD Sealion 7

The all-black interior of the BYD Sealion 7 also looks as visually dramatic as the exterior of the crossover, with it having many interesting-looking design elements that catch your attention instantly. 

Behind the four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with grey inserts, the BYD Sealion 7 has a wide blacked-out dashboard that stretches from end to end with trapezoidal AC vents on the corners. This dashboard incorporates a 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console, whereas the centre console is dominated by a huge 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

With a sleek silver-coloured layer in the middle of the dashboard, the lower centre console houses the sleek trapezoidal AC vents and a gloss black panel for the drive mode controller and other functions. The other features gracing the cabin of the Sealion 7 include a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, 8-way powered driver’s seat, 6-way powered co-driver’s seat, heated and ventilated front seats, metal door sill protectors, 12-speaker audio system, NFC key, and a wireless charger. 

Aptly defined as a crossover and not an SUV, the BYD Sealion 7 has a poised stance with aerodynamic-looking flowing body panels and a slightly low roofline, making it visually dramatic. The front look of the BYD Sealion 7 has a stylish appearance with C-shaped headlamp clusters on the lower corners of the flowing bonnet, which include both dynamic LED headlamps and daytime running LEDs. The front bumper also has aggressive-looking C-shaped surrounds for the air vents on the corners, with gloss black highlights around them.

The BYD Sealion 7 has smoothly-contoured front and rear fenders, which along with the flush-type door handles and large 20-inch alloy wheels (19-inch in the lower variant), give the crossover a very aerodynamic appearance. At the rear, the BYD Sealion 7 has dynamic water droplet-inspired LED inserts in the combination tail lamps, which are again joined by a sleek connected LED light bar across the boot’s lid. 

The BYD Sealion 7 comes with a suspension combination of double wishbone at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, with the electric crossover having front and rear frequency selective damping shock absorbers for a plush and settled ride quality. While the Premium variant has 19-inch alloy wheels, the Performance variant of the crossover has larger 20-inch alloy wheels. The BYD Sealion 7 also has iTAC (intelligent torque adaptation control) for better torque distribution which aids in reducing wheel skidding. 

Both the variants of the BYD Sealion 7 have different battery and motor setups. The lower-spec Premium variant has a rear-wheel drive configuration, with its single motor setup claiming 308 bhp power and 380 Nm of torque. This variant claims 6.7 seconds for the 0-100 kmph sprint and a range of 567 km from its 82.5kWh battery. 

The Performance variant of the BYD Sealion 7 has a dual-motor setup – 160kW motor at the front and 230kW motor at the rear. This variant claims a power output of 523 bhp, torque output of 690 Nm, 4.5 seconds for the 0-100 kmph run, and a range of 542 km from the same 82.5kWh battery. 

Both the variants of the BYD Sealion 7 come standard with essential safety features like front, side, curtain, and far side airbags, 360-degree parking camera, front and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, hill hold control, auto hold, and electronic parking brake.

Also standard in both the variants of BYD Sealion 7 are ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, emergency lane keep assist, predictive collision warning, traffic sign recognition, intelligent speed limit information and speed limit control, front and rear cross-traffic alerts and braking, blind spot detection, door open warning, high beam assist, driver attention warning, and head-up display.
