Audi shows its support to medical institutions via a new logo

KUALA LUMPUR: It was only a while back when Audi tweaked its logo to promote the message of social distancing. Do you remember? The four rings in the logo were placed at a distance from one another. Well, the German automaker now has a new logo, this time to show support and appreciation for medical and social institutions around the globe fighting against COVID-19 pandemic.

The new Audi logo has four hearts and not rings connected to one another. Hashtag # AudiTogether accompanies it along with the company’s motto “We are in this together”. In addition to the new logo, Audi has announced to donate a total of 5 million euros in emergency aid to both local and international communities.

Audi’s new Chairman of Board Management, Markus Duesmann said,“The corona pandemic presents extreme challenges for all of us worldwide – for us as a company and for society as a whole. I would like to thank all the Audi employees who are looking ahead, doing their bit and helping where they are needed in this extraordinary time. I would also like to thank all those people who are maintaining business operations at our worldwide sites.”

As per Audi’s statement, its first significant cash donation is already underway. The automaker is taking several efforts to help in this fight like last March 30, it handed over 600,000 euros to health facilities in Neckarsulm and Ingolstadt. Audi Brussels and China are providing medical equipment to local hospitals. Also, Audi Hungaria will be making cash donations to Gyor Hospital. Meanwhile, Audi’s international sites are providing local support and are planning further measures in detail.

Peter Mosch, Chairman of the General Works Council of Audi, said, “The willingness of our team to help in the corona crisis is enormous. Everyone wants to do their bit to help shape a secure future after the disaster. By playing an active role in the matter of donations, we are meeting our great responsibility towards the regions of our sites.
