Chevrolet Cruze Sport Edition unveiled with more details

Kuala Lumpur: The much-anticipated muscle car, Cruze Sport Edition from the house of Chevrolet made another appearance recently at the latest Naza World Auto Mania event that happened last weekend. The car was earlier sighted at the first leg of the same event in April this year.

As goes with the name, the Cruze Sport Edition features an all new silver paint job with a black splash along with different headlamps and uniquely crafted alloy wheel. Looks like the actual car is soon coming to the markets.

Earlier not much information regarding the specs were released by the company but at the event, Chevrolet Cruze Sport Edition's brochures were distributed. These brochures had more details about the car on what the ‘Performance Pack’ included in the Cruze Sport means. The main addition of the car is the all-new “Performance Pack” which is basically a performance air filter that’s claimed to increase power and throttle response as per the dyno curve as seen in the image above.

If we look at this performance curve of the Chevrolet Cruze plain addition then we can find that original curve has a dip somewhere in the mid point between 3,500 and 6,500 rpm and the air filter fixes it. Here, the peak power appears to be about the same, though, as is the curve in the second half of the graph. You can actually feel the difference when you drive the car.

Apart from the tweaked engine the all-new Sports Edition features added equipment like a full body kit with black leather upholstered seat with red highlights. This time, the Cruze receives an update on the rear exhausts along with the illuminated door sill plates. The car holds an attractive price tag of RM122,868.17 OTR with insurance.
