Finally, COMOS EV Car-Sharing Services for You!
KUALA LUMPUR: It is not Cosmos, It is COMOS, the Cohesive Mobility Solution which has finally launched its electric car sharing programme at Menara UOA Bangsar, officiated by Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal, the Kaula Lumpur mayor. The public registration for the same are open since last month and it is accessible from 10 locations in Klang Valley.
With an amended price structure, the membership will cost you RM 25 a week to RM 50 a month and RM 300 for a year. The usage tariff will be RM 16 for each half an hour which when multiplied gives tariff for per hour i.e. RM 32. The good news is the promotional rate for the first three months which are RM 6 for every 15 minutes increasing up to RM 12 per half an hour. Charges are eclipsed after the sixth hour that means you won’t be charged for the usage after this period, however, the car has to rebound before 10 pm. The fleet will initially consist of 10 Renault Zoes, and the cars can be booked in advance anytime after 10 pm from the COMOS website for the next day.
What remains unchanged, are the rental points, which are located at five LRT stations and five public spots – Asia Jaya, Bangsar, Pasar Seni and Ampang Park LRT stations as well as locations in Medan Tuanku, Lorong Bunus, Lorong P. Ramlee, UTM Jalan Semarak and Universiti Malaya.
How to avail this facility? With essential registration on the COMOS website, your account will be activated which is linked to your credit card. Once the registration is done, you can collect and activate your special RFID access card at Menara UOA Bangsar. This card is a pass key which will let you enter inside the vehicle when scanned under the bottom right of the windscreen. Simply unplug the car before each journey but be cautious of plugging it back with charging station because the billing will otherwise continue, leaving a hole in your pocket.
Not just the absolute zero fuel bills but the company also promises the corporate lease packages in the near time. It also brags about a double tax deduction for the service. The Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) and Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPJ) have already received the COMOS electric vehicles and the Melaka state agencies too will receive them soon.
The Cohesive Mobility Solution are the first ones to come up with electric car sharing service in Malaysia, and with great diligence and awareness, it has solved this environment puzzle so beautifully by bringing together all small components like EV users, EV fleet operators, EV charging providers, telecommunication network operators and parking management operators.
