It has been confirmed as a global model—but there's no word if it's coming to Malaysia, but if it did, it could be a strong candidate for Proton’s next-gen Perdana under the e.MAS brand.Built on Geely’s advanced GEA (Geely Electric Architecture) platform, the Galaxy A7 is not only the first sedan under the Galaxy sub-brand but also the debut model to feature the company’s EM-i AI Super Hybrid 2.0 powertrain.

The Galaxy A7 will be offered in five variants, priced between 103,800 yuan and 133,800 yuan (approximately RM68k to RM88k), undercutting many rivals in its segment while offering premium features and class-leading range.
Two battery options are available—8.5 kWh (with 70 km EV range) and 18.4 kWh (150 km EV range), with the top trims promising over 2,100 km of total hybrid driving range on a full tank and charge.
Powering the Galaxy A7 is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 82 kW (110 hp), paired with a 175 kW (235 hp) electric motor.
Together, they enable the car to sprint from 0–100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. Claimed fuel consumption stands at just 2.67L/100 km under China’s CLTC test cycle.
The design follows a sleek fastback silhouette, boasting a drag coefficient of just 0.229 Cd. At 4,918 mm long with a 2,845 mm wheelbase, the Galaxy A7 slots firmly in the D-segment sedan category, going up against the likes of the BYD Qin L DM-i and similar plug-in offerings. It rolls on striking 19-inch blade-style alloy wheels and comes in six colours, including Obsidian Black and Misty Grey.
Inside, the A7 debuts Geely’s new Flyme Auto cockpit system co-developed with Meizu, built atop the Xingrui AI Cloud 2.0 platform.
A massive 15.4-inch 2.5K touchscreen takes center stage, accompanied by an 8.8-inch digital cluster and, on higher variants, a head-up display. It supports real-time OTA updates, Huawei HiCar, and voice control with four-zone speech recognition.
Cabin amenities include dual 50W wireless chargers, a panoramic sunroof, physical rotary knobs for climate and audio, and full-leather upholstery. Front seats on higher trims come with heating, ventilation, and massage, while rear seats recline up to 120 degrees and fold down 4/6 to open up a 988L boot space.
Buyers can also expect different levels of Geely’s G-Pilot H3 driver assistance suite, with higher-end variants offering NOA (Navigation on Autopilot), APA (Auto Parking Assist), and a 16-speaker Flyme Sound system.
With its elegant proportions, modern tech, and long-distance hybrid range, the Galaxy A7 isn’t just a new player in China—it’s been confirmed by Geely as a global model, paving the way for potential introduction beyond its domestic market. And for Malaysia, it serves as a sharp reminder of what’s currently missing from Proton’s lineup.
As Geely continues its deepening partnership with Proton, the Galaxy A7 could be the perfect candidate to underpin a new-generation Proton Perdana, this time reborn under the Proton e.MAS electrified brand.
It ticks all the right boxes—D-segment size, premium features, strong hybrid efficiency, and a commanding presence that suits both corporate buyers and discerning families.
