KUALA LUMPUR: After making waves in Thailand, the Leapmotor B10 EV is all set to hit the local roads. Yes, that’s now confirmed. Leapmotor Malaysia has started the teaser campaign for this high-tech electric SUV with the ‘coming soon’ caption.

The Leapmotor B10 will rival the likes of the Proton e.MAS 7 and BYD Atto 3 in Malaysia.Globally introduced at the 2024 Paris Motor Show last October, the Leapmotor B10 is a C-segment SUV that is positioned between the Leapmotor C10 and Leapmotor T03. It is expected to come as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) model here, with local assembly set to begin at Stellantis’ plant in Gurun, Kedah.

- The B10 is based on an innovative LEAP 3.5 architecture, which is a highly integrated platform that sets the foundation for advanced features and performance.
- It measures 4515 mm in length, 1873 mm in width, and 1652 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2735 mm. Compared to the C10, it is 224 mm smaller and has a 90 mm shorter wheelbase.

- As for drivetrain setup, we can expect the same rear-wheel drive motor as the Thai-spec model, which generates a maximum power of 218 PS and a peak torque of 240 Nm. It enables the EV to complete the century sprint in 8 seconds and hit a top speed of 170 kmph.

- Inside, the upcoming Leapmotor B10 features an intuitive and customisable digital cockpit, delivering a sophisticated and premium experience. As for reference, the Thai-spec B10 is kitted with a 14.6-inch infotainment unit, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster, a wireless smartphone charging tray, 64-colour ambient lighting, leather upholstery, power-adjustable seats, seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a full ADAS suite.
