Hyundai Ioniq Teaser Image Released
Kuala Lumpur: After giving a glimpse of its silhouette along with headlamps and taillights, Hyundai has now released a much clear teaser image of the Hyundai Ioniq. This first all-electric vehicle by Hyundai is set to make a world debut in South Korea in January 2016. Earlier, it was also displayed in concept form at the 2013 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show.
Towards the exterior, it gets a lot of dynamic lines throughout its body. Overall, it boasts a coupe-like silhouette. Further, it also features sharp head lights and taillights along with modern turbine alloy wheels. Its aerodynamically designed structure reduces wind resistance and allows proper airflow around its body. Apart from the exterior, a single teaser image of its interior is also revealed. The centre panel features a hexagonal shape and includes an infotainment system with air vents on both the sides. Further, it is also integrated with a three-spoke steering wheel and an instrument cluster which displays the battery charge status.
Hyundai claims it to be the first car to provide an electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain, all in one single model. Talking about the all-new Hyundai Hybrid powertrain, it is powered by a lithium-ion battery. Further, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) can be charged with electricity and combines battery power with fuel-efficient energy. Lastly, the hybrid (HEV) version combines the motion of the car with a gasoline engine to charge its battery. Moreover, Hyundai also claims that Ioniq “combines class-leading fuel efficiency with a fun, responsive drive and attractive design, a unique mix not yet achieved by a hybrid vehicle.”
