Kia A1A Optima to be Unveiled at 2015 SEMA Show

Kuala Lumpur: Kia Motors Corporation is all set to unveil A1A Optima at 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The Korean automaker will display the vehicle at its booth from 9:00 AM starting November 3. Getting its name and inspiration from the scenic Florida A1A highway, Kia A1A Optima is a one-off roadster version of the 2016 Kia Optima, which was unveiled at New York International Auto Show earlier in the year.

The Kia A1A Optima looks eye-catchy from the outside, thanks to its teal paintwork and shortened windscreen. The roadster sits on shiny 20-inch wheels bolted to a Ksport Coilover Suspension, which according to Kia, dramatically lowers the ride height. There are suicide doors at the back which hinge at the back and open at the front, thus adding a touch of whimsy and fun while befitting the roadster style. The roadster also features reinforced steel tubes discretely hidden within its body to keep its rigid structure.

The roof-less Kia A1A Optima gives a clear look of its interior, which features cream-cloured leather upholstery. The suicide door gives access to the inside where four persons can sit comfortably. There are bucket seats for the driver and front passenger in place of standard ones and the rear passengers get custom bucket seats separated by extended armrests and a custom center console. The powertrain of Kia A1A Optima comprises a powerful 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder GDI engine which can produce 245 hp of power and 353 Nm of torque. The Korean automaker has mated the turbocharged engine with a high-performance exhaust to produce a better sound suitable for the roadster as well.
