Koenigsegg Agera RS, Sold out all 25 units in 10 Months, only one in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: The Swedish supercar manufacturer, Koenigsegg, has recently announced that it has sold all the 25 units manufactured of the Agera RS model within 10 months. It has so far been the highest selling rate for the company. Among the 25 units only one will make its way to Malaysia, which is brought by a very affluent buyer on these coasts.

Koenigsegg Agera RS Front Profile

The Agera RS was unveiled for the first time at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show beside the electric Regera less than a year ago with a limited production of 25 units. It is so far the ultimate version of the Agera family from the house of Koenigsegg till date. The Agera RS can be touted as one of the amphibious cars on the road as the max speed of Agera RS is 439 kmph. I mean, where you will drive this car. It is obviously built as an ultimate track machine implementing some of the best technologies from the One:1. The high speed of this car is a result of the lightweight features and track optimized technologies which is majorly backed by a 5.0 Litre V8.

According to the press release from the company, Agera RS is bought all around the world with customers from various countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, China, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia and our Malaysia. However, only one car will be delivered to a very high profile Malaysian who has shelled out a whopping sum of RM5 million to obtain this exclusive hypercar. While the price of Koenigsegg Agera RS for others was kept as $2 Million

Koenigsegg Agera RS Rear Profile

Talking about the Koenigsegg Agera RS, it is exclusively crafted to rule out the speed records carried by its other beastly siblings R and S models, while also losing out to the maniacal model One:1. The car is powered by a rumbling and I mean rumbling here with a 5.0-litre V8 twin turbo engine that gulps down a concentrated dose of fuel to churn out a 1,160 hp with 1,280 Nm of torque at 4,100 rpm. It is mated with a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox that can allow the Agera RS to reach a 100kmph on speed dial in just 2.9 seconds and that will continue to ascend till it hits a top speed of 439 kmph!

Agera RS in Woods

Koenigsegg founder Christian von Koenigsegg said: “I am extremely proud of the Agera RS program. The RS is a classic Koenigsegg, with all the core values and features that the Koenigsegg brand stands for.” He also added that “The performance, road feel and responsiveness are truly amazing and the level of technical sophistication is second to none. It is a true ‘pinnacle’ project that has been wholly embraced by our customers and friends.”

The Agera RS series is being manufactured by the company and will be delivered all across the world to its 25 customers throughout 2016. The last unit will leave the assembly line and will be delivered to the customer by 2017. In the case of Malaysia, the Koenigsegg Agera S was offered by Naza Swedish Motors to one lucky Malaysian who has actually become nation's pride after that because as long it will be in Malaysia, it is as good as ours.

Despite being a biotech professional, Sanchit Agarwal's daydreams of driving a Ferrari and chasing cars in a Grand Prix made him jump into automotive journalism. His childhood craving for the cars started with Hot wheels toys which led him to create pseudo cars on his own. When people loved playing outdoor sports, Sanchit was stuck to his racing video games hidden in a closet. The torque of his creative writing coupled with his passion for moving machines pushed him into Carbay's garage. Sanchit also wonders's, why is he writing this as a third person.
