Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 Rear-Wheel-Drive Revealed
Kuala Lumpur: Lamborghini is adding a rear-wheel-drive model to its Huracan lineup, which already includes the LP 610-4 that the car was launched with and the LP 610-4 Spyder that we just saw at the recent Frankfurt Auto Show. The rear-wheel-drive model makes its debut tomorrow at the Los Angeles Auto Show and is officially known as the Huracan LP 580-2.
Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini said, “The Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2 continues the Lamborghini tradition of pure, visionary and technology-driven models. The rear-wheel drive model fits perfectly into our Huracán family, appealing to those wanting an even more intense driving experience, or who currently drive other rear-wheel- drive marques and aspire to driving a Lamborghini. This is the purest expression of a Lamborghini to date, with class-leading technological refinements. It is a serious car for serious drivers: it is maximum driving fun.”
The Huracan LP 580-2, the new entry in the Huracan line and uses the 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine that is good to churn out a power output of 580 HP and 540 Nm of peak torque. Instead of driving all four wheels, this Lamborghini Huracan only powers its rear set and mostly uses its front fascia to introduce a larger set of air intakes. This new Lamborghini racing car takes 3.4 seconds to hit 100 km/h from standstill, before reaching a V-max of 320 km/h.

The Huracan LP 580-2’s weight is distributed in such a way that proportionates the body into 40% of the front anf 60% of the rear. Its total dry weight is 1,389 kg, which is 33 kg lighter than the 4WD Huracan coupe.
The Huracan LP 580-2 as expected will be more fun to drive car. For the reason it has got stiffer suspension, refined steering and re-calibration of the electronic stability and traction control systems aimed at improving feel for the driver. The selectable Lamborghini driving modes (Strada, Sport and Corsa) are tuned to provide oversteering characteristics, emphasizing its rear-wheel drive behaviour.

The large, newly formed front air intakes specifically direct the cooling air and headwind to increase down pressure on the front axle. The spoiler lip at the rear works together with the rising diffuser in the underbody to improve airflow around the rear of the car and remove the need for a movable rear spoiler. The car also sports unique 19-inch wheels.
