Limited-edition DS 7 Crossback Louvre Edition is now available in the UK

KUALA LUMPUR: DS Automobiles has been a patron of the Le Louvre museum in Paris, which is one of the most famous museums in the world. To pay homage to its iconic gallery, the premium automaker recently rolled out a limited-edition trim of its DS 7 SUV in the UK, named the DS 7 Crossback Louvre Edition.

Designed in collaboration with the art gallery, the special model gives virtual access to the Louvre's most significant works. It offers a unique sub-menu for its 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen display, called “A Day at the Louvre.” On this menu, one can browse images of the 182 paintings, sculptures, and paintings from the museum’s collection.

These include the portrait of the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, The Wedding at Cana by Véronèse, and The Winged Victory of Samothrace. Each work is accompanied by a four-minute podcast outlining its history and secrets.

The DS 7 Crossback Louvre is available in three colours, including Ink Blue, Perla Nera Black, and Platinum Grey. The SUV’s exterior sports exclusive Louvre badges on the bonnet, front wings, and boot lid reflecting the legendry shape of the Leoh Ming Pei-designed Louvre Pyramid. The special DS 7 runs on 20-inch Alexandria alloy wheels featuring a dual-tone finish.

Inside the DS 7 Crossback Louvre, one can notice the cosmetic tweaks inspired by the gallery. These include pyramid-shaped stainless steel AC controllers, and the same pyramid pattern on the dashboard, steering wheel, and door mirrors.

Talking about the mechanical setup, the Louvre is powered by PSA’s turbocharged 1.6-litre four-pot gasoline engine generating maximum power of 222 bhp and a peak torque of 300 Nm. According to the automaker, the output is enough to propel the SUV from naught to 100 kmph in 8.3 seconds. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

The DS 7 Crossback Louvre price starts at £46,530 (RM 257,628) and its first deliveries are expected to commence soon. With the purchase of the SUV, the customers will get a ‘friends of the Louvre’ card for unlimited access to the museum for one year.
