MINI Cooper S Carbon Edition Launched in the US

Kuala Lumpur: Residents of the US would soon be able to get their hands on the all-new MINI Cooper S Carbon Edition. If MINI Cooper S 5 Door with 189 hp was not enough to satisfy you, then this car would surely do. The 'carbon edition' should not be mistaken with BMW i8's carbon fibre body. It is just a regular MINI Cooper S 5 Door which is designed with genuine carbon accents on wing mirror caps, exhaust pipe and air intakes. The exterior paintwork is done in Midnight Black, which is the sole colour available for this edition. Further, it also gets a John Cooper Works aero kit, black rings in headlights and tail lights along with a rear spoiler add on. Elsewhere, it gets black and red stripes across the roof and side profile along with a 'Carbon' script on its side. To ride this car, black 17-inch JCW Track Spoke alloy wheels are used.

Moving inside, you will find its JCW steering wheel, heated seats and a panoramic sunroof. The main console features an 8.8-inch centre display which is further assisted by Visual Boot XL infotainment system, navigation and Harmon Kardon sound system. Further, the automaker has also provided this car with Comfort Access and Dynamic Damper Control.

Main upgrades can be found under the bonnet, as it features a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder petrol engine that churns out a maximum power of 208 hp which is 19 hp more than the standard Cooper S. This engine is further tweaked with a JCW Pro Tuning Kit. Talking about pricing, the one with 6-speed manual transmission is listed at RM156,500, while the 6-speed automatic transmission would cost you an additional RM6,500.
