Naza Kia Malaysia launches new enhanced Optima EX, priced RM 139,888

KUALA LUMPUR: Naza Kia Malaysia has brought a new enhanced Optima EX, which is based on an existing variant in the model range. It gets some improvements and comes with an on-the-road price tag of RM 139,888. The cost is higher than the range-topping GT trim by RM 30,000, and it takes the slot just below this top-spec variant.

Coming to the design, the all-new Optima EX comes with a bit different twin projector LED headlights design along with the “vertical intaglio grille”. Moreover, there is a new lower intake having horizontal bars as it ditches the mesh-type design of GT. It features LED fog lamps, which resemble the GT variant. Also, the car gets LED combination taillights and rides on the 17-inch multispoke alloy wheels.

On the inside, it features a power driver’s seat having the memory function. All the seats get black fabric upholstery. Most of the cabin receives a black paint job. On the dash, there is an infotainment system of seven-inch that features connectivity options like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also, the car comes with a 360-degree Around View Monitor.

The new Optima EX is powered by a 2.0-litre CVVL engine, which can make a maximum power of 163 PS and the peak torque sticks at 196 Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed conventional automatic gearbox. However, range-topping GT’s 2.0 T-GDi engine can push out a maximum power of 245 PS and the peak torque sticks at 350 Nm. The Kia Optima EX is available in three color options namely Snow White Pearl, Platinum Graphite, and Aurora Black. As previously mentioned the car is priced at RM 139,888, and it also comes with a five year or unlimited mileage warranty. While we have been entertained with the Optima EX, Kia is soon going to drop the sedan from its Australian lineup.
