New Kia Picanto GT-Line arrives in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Naza Kia Malaysia launched the new Picanto GT-Line in the country. This new Picanto variant will join the existing EX trim. It is available in three different colors - Aurora Black Pearl, Titanium Silver, and Clear White.

The all-new Picanto GT-Line comes with a newly designed front bumper that showcases a larger than before lower apron integrated with fog lamps. The side profile gets deeper side skirts and eight-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels with a dual-tone finish. The rear diffuser looks aggressive and has twin exhaust exits.

Inside there are dual-tone seats, front armrest, sunroof, cruise control, an illuminated vanity mirror, tyre pressure monitoring system, and automatic air-conditioning. The driver grips a flat-bottomed steering wheel wrapped in leather.

All the other features are same as the EX variant. The Picanto spec sheet includes LED tail lights, automatic projector halogen headlights with LED DRLs, push-button start, keyless entry, and a reverse camera. There is also a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Speaking of the Kia Picanto safety kit, it gets six airbags, stability control, ISOFIX rear child seat anchors, hill start assist, ABS with EBD, and brake assist. Moreover, there is also an autonomous emergency braking (AEB), which is a unique feature.

The engine remains the same as before. The 1.2-litre 4-cylinder engine makes a maximum power of 84 PS at 6,000 rpm, and the peak torque is 122 Nm, coming at 4,000 rpm. The power is sent to the front wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.

The all-new GT-Line variant carries a price tag of RM 57,888 (excluding insurance). Due to the enhanced spec list, it costs around RM 8,000 more than its base variant. The car comes with five years of warranty with unlimited mileage.
