New Limited Edition Electric Coupe, One by Youxia Motors

KUALA LUMPUR: A Chinese auto company, Youxia Motors, a Shanghai-based company, not as popular as others in the market is coming up with an electric vehicle based on Hyundai Genesis Coupe platform, named One. It has released the official images of the upcoming all-electric coupe, which would be up for sale in China by 2016.

There aren't many images live for the upcoming EV but with the images we have, it shows a standard front design resembling the Genesis concept. It gets the crooked headlamps that have LEDs fitted inside them. The front profile displays a twin-slat radiator grille with logo placed in the centre. It seems that One is inspired by the British luxury sports manufacturer, Aston Martin and the California-based automotive company, Fisker after viewing the side profile vents on the car.

Initially, only five cars will be produced which will be based on Hyundai Genesis Coupe, but soon the company wants to develop its own platform for the same. Youxia Motors adds that the electric motors and batteries of One can be purchased from an E-Commerce website named Taobao.

Youxia One would have the capability to touch 62 mph from still, before it accelerates to its top speed of 186 mph.

It will be released as a concept on July 25 at a private event in China. But, the production version would be out for customers in a year's time.

Once the concept is launched in July, the company will start a crowd-funding campaign to raise $3 million yuan (approx $483,000) which will be required to build initial five cars. Thereafter, Youxia would be surfing for investors to raise another $10 million yuan (approx $1.6 million) that will be needed to build its own platform from zero. If everything goes well, then there is no looking back for Youxia and it could be called as China's Tesla.
