Peugeot 308 GTi to be displayed at 1Utama till October 28

KUALA LUMPUR: The Peugeot 308 was officially showcased today and will be displayed till October 28 at 1Utama Shopping centre. Along with this, the facelifted Peugeot 308 GTi will also be on display. The car was previously previewed back in July but now the pricing has been effectively confirmed, which is expected to be RM 199,888 on-road without the insurance.

Paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the Peugeot 308 GTi will manage to pick up the speed of 0-100 kmph in six seconds and hit an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. It has a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with four cylinders, which provides 270 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 330 Nm of torque at 1,900 rpm.

The local trim is featured with full LED rear and front lighting, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic glass roof, Driver Sport pack, keyless entry, a massage function on the front seats, push button start, etc. Apart from this, there will also be a 9.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, reverse parking camera and last, but not the least, a 3D sound system with three pairs of speakers.

On the Exterior side, the front bumper consists of a gloss black grille and red accent stripes. There would also be a thick red stripe on the lower front lip as well. The wheels come with a sporty look as they are made with lightweight Carbone alloys and are covered with 235-section Michelin Sporty Tyres.

On the interior side, there are bucket seats from Peugeot Sport, wrapped in Alcantara leathers with red stitching. Further, red inserts are given on the steering wheel, gear knob, etc.

There are few mechanical updates which are added, such as Peugeot Sport brakes along with 380 mm discs up front with four-piston calipers. The suspension is tweaked to offer 11 mm lower ride height with damper calibration at the front.

Interestingly, the car received a 5-star rating at the Euro NCAP safety test.
