Proton hosts industrial visit for young talent, strengthens TVET efforts
KUALA LUMPUR: As part of its ongoing efforts to train young Malaysians, Proton hosted an industrial visit at its Tanjung Malim facility within the Automotive High Tech Valley (AHTV). The main goal was to offer them a practical exposure and a better understanding of the automotive industry.

- A total of 35 aspiring students from GIATMARA Tanjung Malim attended this industrial visit, with some participants as young as 15 years old. These students were from different backgrounds, such as automotive & motorcycle technology, and vehicle repair & paint refinishing.
- The session was led by Proton’s Chief Designer, Azlan Othman, who shared insights about the car design, innovation, and industry standards.
- During the programme, trainees got a chance to observe vehicle assembly processes, quality control standards, and the use of modern technologies.
“At PROTON, we see talent development as a long-term responsibility. It is important to engage young Malaysians and sustain their interest in the automotive field by giving them meaningful exposure to the industry. Through initiatives like this at AHTV, we are not only sharing industry knowledge but also helping young talents understand the evolving automotive landscape, including advancements in electrification. This is key to building a strong pipeline of future-ready talent for the nation,” added Dr Kasuma Satria Bin Mat Jadi, Chief Human Resource Officer of PROTON.
“This industrial visit gave our trainees valuable exposure to operations at PROTON’s plant in Tanjung Malim, allowing them to see what it takes to be amongst the leading brands in Malaysia’s automotive industry. They were particularly impressed by the advanced technologies, efficient production systems and strong quality practices, which are responsible for producing the current range of Proton vehicles. Experiences like this are important to inspire our students to build their skills and pursue careers in the automotive sector,” said Fadilah Bt Abdullah, Head of GIATMARA Tanjung Malim.
