Proton S70 joins Teksi Madani national taxi renewal programme

KUALA LUMPUR: Beyond selling cars, Proton remains committed to strengthening communities, supporting livelihoods, and contributing to the country's economic and industrial development. Reinforcing this commitment, the national automaker has announced its partnership in Program Pembaharuan Teksi MADANI Nasional, a national programme led by the Ministry of Transport.

This national programme aims to modernise the nation's public mobility ecosystem by replacing ageing vehicles with the latest new-generation vehicles that promise higher standards of comfort, safety, efficiency, and reliability. The Proton S70 has been selected for this initiative to meet the demanding requirements of high-mileage public mobility operations.

What makes the Proton S70 suitable for the national taxi programme

The spacious cabin of the S70 offers generous legroom and rear-seat comfort, while its large luggage compartment enhances practicality for airport transfers and family travel. As for driver comfort, the sedan’s refined ride quality helps reduce fatigue during long hours behind the wheel.

The vehicle is powered by a responsive yet fuel-efficient turbocharged engine and promises a great combination of performance and operating efficiency, making it suitable for daily commercial use. Specially prepared S70 and benefits for eligible operators

Under the Teksi MADANI programme, eligible operators can acquire the S70 Premium, specially prepared for public mobility service. It is sprayed with Ruby Red colour and features additional equipment required for licensed public transport operations. 

It is important to note that participation in the programme is restricted to operators who satisfy the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) eligibility criteria, including the possession of the necessary operating permits.
