Renault Talisman is launched as new stylish D-segment sedan
KUALA LUMPUR: A new D-segment Renault Talisman has been presented by Renault. First application of Renault's latest design has been given to sedan body, which earlier was shown on the new Espace.
The European-centric Laguna as well as Latitude is replaced by the Talisman. They both are considered as a single global D-segment in Renault. The name of Talisman has already been used prior to this for Latitude in the China market.
It is built on Renault-Nissan's CMF architecture in Douai, France. It is a huge car having the measurement of 4,850 mm long, 1,460 mm tall, 1,870 mm wide and 2,810 mm wheelbase. It has quite large boot measuring about 608-liters, which is biggest enough in its class.
Below the headlamp, some hooks are there, which seems to be an odd feature, however it is useful at night due to the formation of a C-shaped DRL pattern. The rear end of the car has a lighting design due to which, powerful visual impact is made, and tail lamps are also present, which extend inwards in the direction of Renault badge that is present on the centre of the boot lid.

As similar to the Espace, R-Link II touch screen having portrait orientation of 7.0-inch or 8.7 inch that is equipped in the dashboard's centre. Some factors like entertainment, navigation and climate are controlled by the above. The lower version has a regular radio with a display of 4.2 inch. There is a storage space of around 25 litres around the cabin.
Interior include an eight-litre glove box, 4.6 litres in each front door, two litres in each rear door, cupholders having sliding lid cover, a storage compartment which is chilled under the central armrest and a tray for the front passengers to place the keys or a phone.
Some engine options are available. There are two petrol engines made up of TCe 150 and 200 hp, 260 Nm Energy TCt 200 units with a seven-speed EDC dual clutch transmission. The diesel engine include- Energy dCi 110, the 130 hp, 320 Nm Energy dCi 130 and the 160 hp, 380 Nm twin-turbo Energy dCi 160, all with six-speed EDC dual-clutch transmissions.
