Roslan Abdullah becomes the new Deputy CEO of Proton

KUALA LUMPUR: Roslan Abdullah, who held the position of Vice President, Sales, and Marketing for Proton as well as Chief Executive Officer of Proton Edar Sdn Bhd (PESB) since June 2020, has now been promoted to Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the company. He took the official charge on January 1, 2022. 

With a Finance & Accountancy degree from the University of Brighton, UK, Roslan holds extensive experience of almost thirty years in the automotive sector. He has worked at different automotive companies, including Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS), ISUZU HICOM Malaysia, and Honda Malaysia where he performed dual responsibilities of President as well as COO.

According to Dr. Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer Proton, “Roslan Abdullah has played a key role in supporting the leadership of PROTON and guiding the overall management of the business, particularly by strengthening the sales and marketing functions. I am confident we will be able to form a strong partnership to lead the company to greater heights.”

Roslan succeeded Datuk Radzaif Mohamed who retires after holding the position for almost six years. Proton thanked the long-serving former deputy CEO and expressed its deepest appreciation for his services in the official press release. The company said that he was instrumental in overseeing the eventual partnership between DRB-HICOM and Zhejiang Geely Holding (Geely) and took forward the company to a position where it stands today in the automotive industry.
