Subaru Impreza Sport Hybrid 2015 is Released

KUALA LUMPUR: For the Japanese market, the 2015 Subaru Impreza Sport Hybrid has been launched. Hybrid model punchlined “fun to drive”, is the Subaru's second model will go on sale on July 10 in its homeland. Model will be introduced for other markets too.

On its conventionally-powered siblings, many of the styling indications are adopted, on a restyled front fascia, it has been added that gives it more outstanding outlook while it is accompanied by stylised sides added to its physical appearances. On the other hand, the 17-inch wheels are now attired with thicker 215/50 tyres over 205/50 setup of normal variant.

With LED combination rear lamps, a tailgate spoiler is involved at the rear with some revised graphics. Blue accents are exclusively designed on the hybrid model for the interior with silver and gloss black highlights. The seats are shortened in dual-tone Ultrasuede material in the higher-spec 'S' variant. Front passenger and driver seats are operated electrically in the 'S' model.

Changes on the exterior and interior remain restrained relatively, under the metal of body, things get more interesting. Under the bonnet, a 2.0 litre boxed-four cylinder engine is paired with an electric motor. There is a combination of a Lineartronic CVT with a hybrid drive motor. Power is sent to whole four wheels through the marque's trademark Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.

Providing smooth acceleration and low fuel consumption, the entire drivetrain has been optimised. After this, the inverter, batteries and DC converter are combined into a single unit under the boot ensuring not to compromise the cargo capacity. For the Impreza Sport Hybrid, performance figures has not been released by Subaru. Consumption figure of fuel is 20.4 km/l of a JC08 cycle is indulged.
