Top 5 Upcoming Cars in Malaysia in 2016

Kuala Lumpur:  Many cars are awaiting their Malaysia debut with the beginning of 2016. With the concept already shown to the public and the spy shots released a number of times, here are the top 5 upcoming cars in Malaysia in the year 2016.

1. Proton Perdana

Proton Perdana

Proton Perdana is all set to arrive in Malaysia in the first quarter of 2016. While the car will be based on the eighth-generation Honda According, you can expect it to come with high-end luxury as Proton Chairman, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has already stated that Proton Perdana will be the high-end luxury car of their company. The car will be powered by Honda's 154 hp/189 Nm R20A3 2.0 and 177 hp/222 Nm K24Z2 2.4 litre i-VTEC petrol engines, paired to five-speed automatic transmission.

2. Jaguar XE

Jaguar XE

The compact and stylish Jaguar XE was recently spotted on the official website of the Jaguar and is expected to make its Malaysia debut in the beginning of 2016. The car flaunts a true sporting character and is expected to be available in both six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic gearboxes, which could be mated to a 2.0-Liter petrol engine of the Ingenium family in two power configurations: a 200hp/279Nm 2.0-liter i4 turbocharged petrol engine and a 240hp/339Nm 2.0-liter i4 turbocharged petrol engine. 3. Subaru Levorg

Expected to arrive in Malaysia in mid-2016, the new Subaru Levorg combines the practicality of a touring car and the feel of the sports car. The prototype of Levorg was first introduced in 2013, following which it made its UK debut in June 2015, with a sole GT spec. The same UK model could arrive in Malaysia with a 1.6-litre turbocharged Direct Injection Turbo (DIT) flat-four petrol engine capable of producing the maximum power of 170 PS at 4800-5600 rpm along with a commanding torque of 250 Nm at 1800-4800 rpm. The power will be delivered to the all four wheels through a Lineartronic CVT gearbox.

4. Ford Mustang

The sixth-generation of Ford Mustang will make its Malaysia debut in the final quarter of December 2015 but the production of right-hand drive vehicle is said to begin in the second half of 2016. The new Ford Mustang will flaunt a sleeker and modern look unlike its predecessors and will be available in both 2.3 Ecoboost and 5.0 V7 engines. The muscle car will feature an independent multi-link rear suspension for the first time. The new Ford Mustang will be also available in the convertible form.

5. Mitsubishi Outlander

Mitsubishi Outlander

Mitsubishi Outlander is expected to arrive in Malaysia in early 2016. The seven-seater SUV will be powered by a 2.4-litre four-pot MIVEC petrol engine mated to CVT automatic transmission. The engine can produce the maximum power of 166hp along with the peak torque of 219Nm. The new Mitsubishi Outlander is the first model in Malaysia to feature the 'Dynamic Shield' Concept of the company. The all-new Outlander also feature a wide a range of safety and premium features including 7 airbags, Active Stability Control (ASC), LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights, an electric tailgate, a sunroof and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
