2018 Kawasaki Ninja 250 launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Kawasaki has launched its 2018 version of the Ninja 250 in Malaysia with a price tag of RM23,071. The updated motorcycle is based on the Ninja 250 and Ninja 250 SL, only this time it uses a smaller power-plant with a finer tuning.

The twin cylinder 249 cc liquid-cooled engine on the new Ninja 250 will be good enough to make for 39 hp of power at 12,500 rpm and 23.5 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. This means, there is a good upgrade in the power production of the new model over the previous one. The DOHC engine, with eight valves, is supplied with fuel by EFI and a 32 mm throttle valves. Power is sent down to the wheels via a 6-speed gearbox.

The new Kawasaki Ninja 250 has an increased disc brake size, having a front brake of 310 mm diameter while the rear brake is a single 220 mm petal disc. The bike measures 1,990 mm in length, 1,120 mm in height with a width of 710 mm. It possesses a ground clearance of 140 mm and the wheelbase is 1,370 mm. The capacity of the fuel tank is 14 litres and the wet weight is 167 kg. At the front suspension, there is a 41 mm telescopic fork while the monoshock suspension holds up the rear end. The seat height is set at 785 mm, which is very much in line with the Ninjas we have been accustomed to seeing.

For the lighting, the 2018 Ninja 250 uses dual LEDs at the head. The rider will get all the necessary information through cockpit which is a combination of analogue/digital meter displays.

As for the color options, the new Kawasaki Ninja 250 is available in Pearl Solar Yellow with Pearl Storm Grey and Ebony and Passion Red with Metallic Flat Spark Black. It will be available for the deliveries by the mid-August at the authorised Kawasaki Motor Malaysia dealers.
