Modenas Kriss 125 Fi launched in Malaysia; check key highlights

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s kapchai segment recently welcomed a new player: the Modenas Kriss 125 Fi. Ideal for urban and suburban riding, the new little cub features a stylish design, practical features, and a fuel-injected Euro-4 compliant engine.

MODENAS (Motosikal & Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd), a subsidiary of DRB-Hicom Bhd, retails the new Kriss 125 Fi at RM 5,620 (excluding road tax, insurance or registration).

LED headlight with daytime time running light

On the front of this underbone motorbike, we can see a stylish LED headlight projecting an ultra-bright beam for a better view of the road. LEDs contribute to lower maintenance costs as they use less electrical power and last longer than halogen bulbs. The headlight is mated to a daytime running light, adding more style and functionality.

Tail light and LED turn signal

At the rear end lies a sleek tail light paired with the LED turn signal lights, offering enhanced visibility & safety during night riding and in any weather condition.

Hazard lights

The little cub also comes equipped with hazard lights, which comes in handy in case of road emergencies, indicating other road users about the condition.

Instrument cluster

To keep the riders always informed about essential driving-related info, the kapchai has an easy-to-read instrument panel equipped with a speedometer, LED fuel indicator gauge & gear position.

Dual USB power socket

Adding to on-the-go convenience is the dual USB power socket, which can conveniently charge your electronic gadgets while you ride.

Spacious under-seat compartment

Storage is also not a concern for the Modenas Kriss 125 Fi owners as the motorbike features a spacious 6.6-litre under-seat storage compartment. This is enough to keep essential things safe while riding, making it practical not only for daily functional commuting but also for leisure weekend riding.

Euro-4 compliant engine 

Powering the Kriss 125 Fi is a 124 cc single-cylinder, two-valve air-cooled Euro 4 compliant. engine that generates a maximum power of 8.44 hp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 8.5 Nm at 6,000 rpm. It is paired with a four-speed rotary gearbox with a centrifugal clutch, sending power to the rear wheel via chain final drive.

17-inch wheels

The new Modenas bike rides on 17-inch wheels wrapped with 70/90 front and 80/90 rear tubeless tyres.

Suspension & braking

The suspension system comprises traditional telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Handling the braking duties are a single hydraulic disc brake in front and a mechanical drum brake in the rear. 

Overall, the new Modenas Kriss 125 Fi is an affordable, fuel-efficient, and easy-to-use moped that is ready to dominate its class.
