Comfort that punches above its class
Driving the Proton X70 reminded me once again why Malaysians often flock to this brand to date. The seats have a Volvo-like cushioning, and the NVH levels are still regarded as one of the best in this specific car segment. I took it to Genting via the Karak route and the turbo engine never broke a sweat— the mid-range torque made overtaking buses effortless and thrilling. To top it off, the auto brake hold is a blessing in disguise, especially when I was stuck in the KL traffic jams. Apart from these, I also liked the cabin’s brushed metal finish as it doesn’t feel too plasticky. However, the built-in voice command system doesn’t respond well to complex instructions.
