2026 Proton X70 Sport Edition bookings open, limited to 600 units
KUALA LUMPUR: After introducing the X50 Sport Edition last year, Proton has now come up with the X70 Sport Edition, representing a bold new avatar of the brand’s popular C-segment SUV. Bookings for the special X70 are now open in Malaysia, with the official price set to be announced on 16 April 2026.

The Proton X70 Sport Edition sets itself apart with an exclusive Quartz Black exterior shade, a sporty body kit, black 19-inch alloy wheels, and Sport Edition badging inside and out.The Proton X70 Sport Edition will be offered in a limited quantity of 600 units, the automaker confirms. The limited-run model is based on the SUV's Premium variant, which is priced at RM 112,800 (inclusive of RM 7,000 launch rebate).

This sporty model looks sportier and more distinctive with the following exclusive bits -
Quartz Black exterior: The SUV features an exclusive Quartz Black exterior shade, lending it a sharper and more assertive visual presence. Notably, this is the same colour that has been recently added to the X50’s colour palette as a standard option.
Photo from ProtonBody kit: The limited-run model incorporates a sporty body kit, comprising specially designed front, side, and rear skirts, accentuating the SUV’s athletic proportions.
Different wheels: With the Proton X70 Sport Edition comes black 19-inch alloy wheels and exclusive Sport Edition badging, which further distinguishes it from the donor model.
Interior enhancements: Inside, the SUV gets exclusive Sport Edition logos embroidered on the front seats, along with red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and front armrest. A boot tray is also provided to make carrying luggage more convenient.
Photo from ProtonUnder the hood of the special X70 model lies the new i-GT 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, introduced earlier this year. The said mill delivers a maximum power of 181 PS and a peak torque of 290 Nm. Paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox and refined steering and chassis tuning, the setup offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 6.9 litres per 100 km.
