KUALA LUMPUR: One of the fastest-selling SUVs in Malaysian automotive history, the Proton X50, has come up in a new avatar, called the Proton X50 Sport Edition. The automaker officially launched this limited edition model earlier this morning.

    Based on the SUV's 1.5T Premium trim, the Proton X50 Sport Edition is sprayed with a new Black Quartz colour and features the following unique highlights -

    Proton X50 Sport Edition: Specifications

    Under the hood of the special X50 model lies the same 1.5-litre multi-port injected turbocharged mill as the Premium trim. The said engine generates a maximum power of 150 PS and a peak torque of 226 Nm. Sending power to the front wheels is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

    Equipment kit comprises auto LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED front fog lamps, front welcome lamps, power-adjustable door mirrors with auto fold, powered tailgate, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control with speed limiter, three drive modes, intelligent entry with push-start button, remote engine start, leatherette upholstery, 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, auto air-conditioning system, 10.3-inch infotainment unit, six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a 360-degree camera with a 3D display.

    Proton X50 Sport Edition: Price

    The Proton X50 Sport Edition is originally priced at RM 105,800 (on the road without insurance), which means RM 3,500 dearer than the Premium trim. 

    However, as a launch promo, the automaker is offering the special X50 at a discounted price of  RM 98,300 (on the road without insurance), Notably, the rebate applies to all bookings made in January 2025.
