PRO-NET says that momentum has also helped strengthen the Proton e.MAS name in the local electrified vehicle space, with the brand claiming that one out of every two EVs sold in Malaysia this year carries a Proton e.MAS badge.
"We have seen strong interest from Malaysians in the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, and we are thrilled to introduce another colour to the line-up with Emerald Green. This addition reflects our commitment to giving customers more choice, while complementing the model’s modern design and electrified character.” said Puan Salawati Yusoff, Chief Branding Officer of PRO-NET.

The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV Prime, for example, is competitively priced at just RM105,800, offering excellent fuel savings, low maintenance costs, a spacious well-appointed interior, and long-term value for Malaysian drivers.”
The mention of the Prime variant’s RM105,800 price also keeps the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV positioned as one of the more accessible plug-in hybrid choices for buyers who want some electric driving ability without fully committing to an EV.
Photo from ProtonUnder the skin, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV uses the brand’s EM-i Advanced Hybrid Technology. The setup combines a 1.5-litre hybrid-dedicated engine with an 11-in-1 Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, or DHT, and is engineered to balance electric-first driving with the flexibility of a petrol engine for longer trips.
PRO-NET says the engine has a thermal efficiency of up to 46.5%, which is a key figure in helping the SUV achieve better fuel economy while keeping refinement in check.
The hybrid system delivers 160 kW and 262 Nm of torque, and the transmission has been designed to improve response while reducing energy loss. According to the company, the overall system operates at 92.5% efficiency.
Photo by Adam AubreyAs with most modern plug-in hybrids, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV automatically switches between different drive states depending on road and load conditions. These include EV mode, series hybrid mode and parallel hybrid mode.
In lower-speed or everyday urban use, the vehicle can run mostly in EV or series-hybrid mode, where the engine either generates electricity or tops up the battery. At higher speeds or under heavier loads, the system can bring in direct engine drive for better efficiency.
Drivers also get three selectable drive modes, Pure, Hybrid and Power. Pure mode is aimed at all-electric commuting, Hybrid mode handles energy management automatically, while Power mode is there for stronger acceleration when needed.

That could matter more now as fuel prices remain a concern for many Malaysians. For buyers with short daily commutes, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV’s ability to rely more heavily on electric drive could help cut petrol usage quite a bit.
Customers interested in the new Emerald Green Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV can place their bookings through the official Proton e.MAS website or at authorised Proton e.MAS dealerships nationwide.
PRO-NET says Proton e.MAS now has more than 50 dealerships across Malaysia, covering Central, Northern, Southern, East Coast and East Malaysia, with both sales and aftersales support in place.
