Auto-brands you can wear on wrist

KUALA LUMPUR: When two magnificent worlds collide together, they generate something novel, rare and unique. Such is the effect of auto merchandising on us. And what better way to illustrate the love of cars into a merchandise – then a customized watch. Yes, we are talking about watches that derive inspiration from supercars. The history of producing watches inspired by supercars dates centuries back. Many automakers have alliances with watch brands to create a masterpiece illustrating their cars, but few like Lamborghini and Porsche own their own brand factory to produce watches that are as great as their unparalleled cars. Some of these watches cost a million dollar, some are limited editions and some are so special that they are not for sale and made only for gift purpose and you can only come close to them – by either sighting their images or if you are luck enough you can spot one in flesh in an exclusive auction.

We at CayBay, after tedious research brings you a super-exclusive list of fascinating watches inspired by premium supercars that will spellbind every car-lover.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Aston Martin AMVOX 1:

Aston Martin's car exhibits a retro cha rm, coupled with advanced technology and looks so stunning you bound to give another look. So when a watch inspired by a brand so regal was designed it had to take fashion to an all new level. The Jaeger-LeCoultre's partnership with this iconic auto-brand finds it origin in the year 1920's since the Aston Martin car's speedometers were crafted by the swiss watchmaker. Jaeger-LeCoultre and Aston Martin's tie-up first introduced the AMVOX collection whose first watch AMVOX 1 was released in 2005 marking the 40th anniversary of the classic car DB 5. The AMVOX 1 series has two limited-edition watches – one with a platinum case with just 150 units made and another with a titanium case with merely 500 units made.

Breitling for Bentley:

Post the record-breaking success of Bentley's legendary Continental GT, the British brand wanted to take the world by a storm and try their hands in fashion merchandising. Hence resulting in the most vogue alliance with the swiss watchmaker - Breitling. Deriving inspiration from the design aesthetics of Bentley and exhibiting it in a watch gave the way to the series of contemporary watches called “instruments for professionals”. As there are no two same Bentley cars, you wouldn't find the same Breitling for Bentley watches ever. Owners can customize every detail of the watch to suit their preference.
