2019 Kia Optima GT facelift lands in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Kia has officially launched the new 2019 Kia Optima GT facelift in Malaysia. The new generation Kia Optima GT has been completely redesigned to boast a sporty look. The 2019 Kia Optima GT facelift is more of a sports sedan with a new bumper and diffuser. The sports sedan comes in six striking color options – Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black, Gravity Blue, and the newly introduced Silky Silver & Platinum Graphite.

2019 Kia Optima GT comes with the similar turbocharged unit as before. The Theta 2.0 T-GDi GT bursts out 245 PS of max power and 350 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission takes care of the power delivery. The exterior of the new saloon is sporty and attractive. The front gets a revamped grille with a V-shaped mesh pattern embedded. The bumpers and diffusers have been highly reworked. It now gets large corner inlets and horizontal LED fog lamps. The rear houses refreshed LED taillights with new graphics inside. The reflectors at the rear have also been repositioned and are now placed a tad higher. Unlike the regular 2019 Kia Optima, which gets a regular single exhaust unit, the GT variant gets dual oval-shaped outlets.

The cabin is also now more appealing with a new steering wheel design and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, along with around view monitor camera system and ambient lighting near the dash and the doors. Other key features include a keyless entry and start system with Smart Shift & Drive, paddle shifters, rear sunshades, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charger, sunroof, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, and an electronic parking brake.
