2026 Kia EV9 gets a Nightfall Edition package in the US

KUALA LUMPUR: Kia has significantly upgraded its award-winning all-electric EV9 in the US market. The latest version of the three-row SUV features new exterior and interior design elements, as well as an enhanced driving range, making it a more compelling option in its segment.

2026 Kia EV9: What’s new?

The US-spec Kia EV9 comes in five variants -  Light SR, Light LR, Wind, Land, and GT-Line. With the Land trim, the South Korean automaker exclusively offers the Nightfall Edition package, which adds design and performance enhancements. Notably, the Nightfall Edition offers 6-passenger and 7-passenger seating configurations.

Nightfall Edition package 

As mentioned above, the package features distinctive blacked-out styling elements and enhanced features, including 

• Gloss Black skid plates, fascia accents, and side rails
• Gloss Black mirrors
• Gloss Black roof rails
• 20-inch blacked-out wheels
• Nightfall Edition-specific black badging
• Black themed interior dashboard
• Nightfall Edition-specific stitching patterns on the interior trims

The Kia EV9 Nightfall Edition also adds a Boost mode to the mix, which can take up the EV’s torque from 600 to 700 Nm, matching the range-topping GT-Line’s torque output.

Enhanced driving range

The EV retains the 99.8 and 76.1 kWh battery packs based on the same E-GMP platform. However, there are some notable range improvements across its lineup. 

• The GT-Line trim benefits from an additional range of 16.1 km for a total range of 451 km. 
• The Wind and Land variants each gain 4.8 km, reaching 455 km
• The Light LR range is improved by 1.6 km to 491 km. 

The 2026 Kia EV9 price in the US begins at USD 54,900 (approx RM 233,485) and goes up to USD 73,900 (approx RM 314,290).

Kia EV9 in Malaysia

Kia Malaysia introduced the highly anticipated EV9 in June last year. The three-row EV is offered in a sole GT-Line trim in two seating configurations – seven-seater and six-seater, priced at RM 369,668 and RM 374,668, respectively. It is powered by a 99.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a driving range of 505 km on a single charge.
