KUALA LUMPUR: Kia first unveiled the XCeed in 2019 and since then it hasn’t benefited from a facelift. The long overdue revamp is now on cards as the all-new 2023 XCeed is all set to make its debut on July 18.

    2023 Kia XCeed coming soon

    Design language: The 2023 XCeed looks super stylish, something that today’s urban youth would like and want to drive. The images reveal the car to feature sleek headlamps with triple LED DRLs along with a redesigned front bumper with new side intakes, and a lower main intake.

    What however remains unchanged is the brand’s signature ‘tiger nose’ grille. The rear profile is revised too with redesigned taillamps and a new lower rear bumper section.

    Powertrain: As per Kia, the 2023 XCeed will be an electrified car, therefore all its engines will be tuned accordingly. Part of the previous-gen model engine options were 1.0-litre 3-Cyl, 1.4-litre 4-Cyl, and 2.0-litre conventional engines. This means that none will be carried forward to the new model.

    The pre-facelift XCeed also had a PHEV variant that was powered by a 1.6-litre direct-injection petrol engine paired to a 60 PS e-motor, powered by an 8.9 kWh battery pack.

    Together the two pump out a maximum power of 141 PS along with a peak torque of 265 Nm. It offers a pure electric range of 58 km.

    As for the upcoming 2023 XCeed, it could be powered by a 1.0-litre mild-hybrid Smartstream direct-injection powerplant with a mild-hybrid starter-generator and a lithium-ion polymer battery. The same setup is also available in the 2021 Kia Stonic wherein it generates a maximum power of 100 PS and 120 Nm of torque.

    Variants: For the first time ever, the XCeed lineup would get a GT-Line variant that would bring its own set of attributes like a wireless phone charger and more modern amenities. All this along with GT-Line specific interior, GT-Line badging, and unique exterior elements.
