The official distributor of Volvo Cars in Malaysia, Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) has made the arrival of its latest electric car official. In case you missed it, the C40 Recharge is soon coming to Malaysia. Making it the second Volvo EV available in the local market after the quite popular XC40 Recharge Pure Electric.

Making the new EVs arrival even more certain is its official introduction on the VCM’s website along with the ‘Keep Me Updated’ page wherein just adding just a few details will offer you first-hand information on the EV.

 

Let us now check the upcoming Volvo C40 Recharge key highlights -

• The upcoming Volvo EV will offer an electric range of up to 530 km (as per the New European Driving Cycle)
• Being an EV does not mean it will be slow, the C40 Recharge is a fair example with a 0 - 100 kmph acceleration of 4.7 seconds
• Making the car even more sustainable is its 100 percent leather-free nature

• It is a well-connected vehicle, thanks to the built-in-Google, so the owners will access to Google Play Store, Google Maps, and Google Assistant
• The car showcases a stunning, dynamic styling with a coupe-like roofline
• A few exterior bits that make the EV a stunner is its prominent roof spoiler, reworker LED tail lights, tailgate with an integrated wing
• The cabin will offer a lux look and feel with add-ons like a back-lit ambience

Though the automaker is yet to mention the powertrain detail the acceleration and range details clearly point towards one particular unit. It is the automaker’s dual-motor P8 AWD electric powertrain that also powers the ongoing XC40 Recharge Pure Electric. The mill in the latter churns out a maximum power output of 408 PS along with a peak torque of 660 Nm. The power is supplied by an underfloor-mounted lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 78 kWh.

On the charging front, the EV is expected to support both Type 2 AC and CCS2 DC fast charging (from 0 to 80% in just 40 mins).

The Volvo C40 Recharge might look and feel quite similar to the XC40 Recharge. However, while the latter is available in both electric and internal combustion engines, the former is a pure EV.
